Quito’s $16.5m expansion plan
By Doug Newhouse |
Quito Airport concessionaire Quiport is to go ahead with its $15m planned phase II expansion of the passenger terminal to 5,260sq m and $1.5m runway improvements.
Ecuador’s Quiport is eight years into a 35-year concession (expiring in 2041) with the Municipality of Quito, through CORPAQ and Quiport SA to both improve the infrastructure and operate the airport, having completed the construction of a new airport in the Tababela district, which was also part of its agreement.
The joint venture concessionaire operation includes Brazilian toll road operator CCR Aecon, Airport Development Corporation (ADC) and the HAS Development Corporation (HAS-DC).
